Robert Rangeley is the Marine Program Director at WWF's new Atlantic office in Halifax. He was educated at the University of Western Ontario (B.Sc. hon.), the University of New Brunswick (M.Sc.) and McGill University (Ph.D.). He is a marine ecologist with over 16 years of research experience in Atlantic Canada. His field research has focussed on seaweed, invertebrates, fishes and seabirds in the near shore waters of the Bay of Fundy, Gulf of Maine and Gulf of St. Lawrence. A recurring theme in Bob's work has been on the interaction between marine animals and their environment, with a strong emphasis on habitat and conservation issues. Bob and his colleagues at WWF-Canada will focus their Atlantic Canada efforts on securing a network of marine protected areas to preserve biodiversity and healthy fisheries.
