Patricia obtained a Masters in Marine Management from Dalhousie University in 2001 through the Marine Affairs Program. Previously, she has been involved in research at the National Fishery Institute (Instituto Nacional de Pesca) in Uruguay supporting the rational and sustainable management of renewable resources through the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). In addition, she has worked on Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) of the Rio de la Plata in Uruguay where she created scientific baselines to support the development of national policies for the sustainable and integrated management of coastal fishing resources. In recent years, she has worked extensively in the area of oil and gas through reviews of environmental assessments for oil and gas activities in the marine environment as well as compiling bibliographies on this issue. Currently, she resides at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography where she is developing an annotated bibliography on the impacts of oil and gas exploration and production in marine ecosystems.
