My research interests relate to the ecology of coastal and estuarine fish and macro-invertebrate communities. In my Ph.D. research at the University of New Brunswick with the Canadian Rivers Institute ( www.unb.ca/cri/ ), I am examining the ecological influence of anthropogenic activities (such as bivalve aquaculture, fish processing plant effluents and others) on the structure, function, and productivity of epibenthic communities in southern Gulf of St. Lawrence bays and estuaries in collaboration with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (Gulf Fisheries Centre, Moncton). My previous research has involved environmental monitoring of pulp and paper mill effluents using population and community level approaches including stable isotopic analyses as well parasite community ecology in salt marsh ecosystems.
