I studied Biology for 5 years at the University of Bretagne Occidentale (France) and got a degree (D.E.A.) in Biological Oceanography and Marine Environment, option: living resources and coastal ecosystems, in 1999. I am currently doing my PhD thesis at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography. My research aims to do a comparison between two Arctic polynyas (the Northeast Water and the North Water polynyas) in relation to their planktonic food webs by use of inverse modelling techniques. Different food web structures are expected between the two polynyas, and consequently different pathways for the energy flows in these high latitudes ecosystems.
