Candace has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and Physical Geography from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2000. Her fields of interest include Marine Biodiversity and Conservation. Since completing her undergraduate studies Candace has volunteered in Madagascar and the Bahamas conducting surveys of coral reef environments. She recently completed an internship in Marine Biodiversity at the Huntsman Marine Science Centre working with Dr. Mark Costello. She is currently pursuing her Masters at Memorial University of Newfoundland with Dr. John Anderson at NAFC and Dr. Trevor Bell at MUN, on Acoustic Seabed Classification of Capelin Spawning Habitat. Through the recent discovery of demersal capelin spawning sites in Newfoundland land and the use of Multibeam and normal incidence acoustic systems, Candace hopes to identify and classify potential capelin spawning habitat.
