09:15 – 09:20: Peter Lawton, Executive Director, CMB. Introductions. 


09:20 – 09:40: Peter Lawton (presenter), and Lewis Incze. An overview of the Gulf of Maine Area Program (GoMA) of the Census of Marine Life.


09:40 – 10:00: William Li, Robert Andersen, Dian Gifford, Lewis Incze, Jennifer Martin, Cynthia Pilskaln, Juliette Rooney-Varga, Michael Sieracki, William Wilson, and Nicholas Wolff. Planktonic microbes in the Gulf of Maine area.


10:20 – 10:40: Rémi Daigle, and Anna Metaxas. Small scale distribution and spatial variability of benthic invertebrate larvae.


10:40 – 11:00: Michelle Lloyd, and Anna Metaxas. Patterns in the vertical distribution of larvae of marine benthic invertebrates.


11:00 -11:20: Mary Kennedy, co-authors to be confirmed. Recent developments concerning CaRMS (Canadian Registers of Marine Species) and Canada OBIS (Ocean Biogeographic Information System). (Title to be confirmed)


11:20 – 11:40:  Robert Branton, Lenore Bajona, Susan Dufault, Marta Mihoff, and Brian Jones. Update on Ocean Tracking Activities in Canada's 4 Oceans (Arctic, NE Pacific, NW Atlantic and Great Lakes).

11:40 – 12:00:  Claude Nozères, Lizon Provencher, Kathleen Gardiner, Terry Dick, Roberta Miller, Richard Larocque, Marilyn Thorne, and Blaise Barrette. Marine biodiversity and digital imaging in the Estuary and Gulf of St. Lawrence.

12:00 – 13:30: Lunch provided for CMB members and seminar presenters. Short video presentations on the Census of Marine Life and Canadian marine biodiversity research projects may be viewed in the BIO Auditorium during the lunch period.


13:30 – 16:00: Centre for Marine Biodiversity Annual General Meeting.


16:15 – 17.55: Oceans – A Film by Jacques Perrin and Jacques Cluzaud, Galatée Films (Open to CMB members and guests; Seminar speakers; BIO staff). A showing of the original version of Oceans (French narration, with English sub-titles), produced by Galatée Films for several international markets. A different version of the film than the North American commercial release. This presentation is not open to the general public.
