Getting there

Travel information on how to get to Halifax and local transportation information on how to get to the conference.

Please refer to this map for the location of the Bedford Institute of Oceanography and the three hotels suggested for accomodations.

Getting to Halifax
The Stanfield International Airport is located ~30kms from Halifax. If you are flying to Halifax, you will land there. There is a shuttle service operating from the airport. Taxis and limousines are also available at a cost of $53 CAD one-way.


Getting to your hotel

Rooms have been reserved for the conference at the following three hotels (for more details see the Accommodations section of the conference site):

  1. Days Inns Dartmouth (75 rooms reserved)
  2. Park Place Ramada Plaza (10 rooms reserved)
  3. Holiday Inn Harbourview (10 rooms reserved)
Note that a morning and evening shuttle provided by the conference will be available from these hotels to the conference. Shuttle service will also be available for the banquet.

Getting to the conference

The conference will be held at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography (BIO) located in Dartmouth. Please follow this external link to google for a map showing the location of BIO.


Metro Transit is the public transportation authority for the Halifax Regional Municipality and runs a number of bus routes in addition to passengers ferries. Route #51 has two buses going to the Bedford Institute of Oceanography in the morning and two buses leaving the Institute in the late-afternoon.
